Years in the making, the talented team of chef/owner Chris Santos, Tao owner Richard Wolf and Peter Kane of Happy Ending have finally opened the Lower East Side's sexiest new restaurant and lounge, The Stanton Social.
This collaborative effort began earlier in their careers when the three partners and friends worked together. With the help of Avroko, the James Beard award winning design firm, they have created this "jewel" of a restaurant by conjuring up their favorite dishes and paying homage to the LES garment industry past with innovative design.
This modern New York bistro serves multi-ethnic share plates designed to offer guests a chance to experience multiple dishes and flavors throughout their meal. The menu offers a full raw bar as well as forty additional items such as French Onion Soup Dumplings, Duck Empanadas, Kobe Beef Burgers, Lobster Roll Sliders, Oysters Rockefeller and The Stanton Social Beef Wellington.
The three-level space features a thirty-foot glowing wine wall displaying over 2,000 bottles of wine in a herringbone pattern, fringe-covered walls, fine lizard skin banquettes, leather handrails and belt-strapped pillows, all of which subtly tip their hat to the luxury and glamour found in the textiles and fashions of the 1940's. Even The Stanton Social staff uniforms reference the era, including Mary Jane shoes, A-lined skirts and seamed stockings. |
