Glenn Harris and Jeffrey Lefcourt (owners of New York City's Jane Restaurant and The Neptune Room) have opened The Smith at 55 Third Avenue (between 10th and 11th Streets), a casual, bi-level American brasserie in Manhattan's East Village neighborhood. The Smith's menu, created by chef and owner Harris and executed by long-time executive chef at Jane Restaurant Brian Ellis, will feature accessible and value-priced American cuisine for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
