AvroKO Hospitality Group is pleased to introduce a brand new food and beverage program at acclaimed Downtown gin den, Madam Geneva. Naren Young, responsible for a number of NYC's most popular cocktail programs, including at Madam Geneva's sister restaurant, Saxon + Parole, has teamed up with bar manager, Laura Lashley, to create the new Southeast Asian-inspired beverage menu. AvroKO Hospitality Group's Michelin-starred executive chef, Brad Farmerie, has designed a menu of small plates to complement the exotic flavor profile of the cocktails. Madam Geneva has also introduced a dynamic music program to her inviting lounge, with regular guest DJ nights.
Named after an 18th Century term for gin, Madam Geneva takes inspiration from the Orient for her new cocktail menu, which showcases an extensive range of dry, aged and boutique rare gins. The elixirs draw on squeezed-to-order juices, botanicals and fresh herbs, and each cocktail features gin as its principal ingredient. Guests can embark on a virtual voyage to Asia, enjoying a menu that includes That Elderflower Drink, with Plymouth gin, St. Germain, Daiginjo sake and kaffir lime; the Far East Gimlet, with Spring 44, yuzu, house-made lime cordial and Vietnamese mint; and the Tiger's Milk, an exotic mix of Bombay Sapphire East, pineapple, coconut milk and birdseye chili. Inspired by the traditional "Panch" found in the Far East, Young and Lashley have also debuted hand-crafted punches, ideal for sharing. Served in antique glass punch bowls, the selection includes the Horse & Carriage, a fragrant blend of Beefeater 24, Combier, St. Germain, chamomile tea, edible flowers, lemon juice and citrus sugar. For her wine-seeking guests, Madam Geneva offers an array that, like her, is perfumed, exotic and faintly acidic. In search of fragrant wine that complements the spicy street food she serves, the Madam has wandered to France, with Riesling from Alsace, unctuous Chenin Blanc from the banks of the Loire, and ripe Gamay and Pinot Noir from the Beaujolais. The Madam also offers an assortment of domestic and imported beers, each chosen to complement her fare. |
