Joe Campanale, Gabe and Katherine Thompson, and August Cardona are pleased to announce the opening of Anfora, a new West Village wine bar (34 8th Avenue; 212.518.2722). Located just two doors down from the team's popular Italian jewel-box restaurant dell'anima, Anfora offers wines selected by Campanale, a seasonal list of thoughtfully composed cocktails, and small plates and desserts from the Thompsons. Selections at the 50-seat wine bar will include over one hundred Old and New World bottles from a variety of biodynamic and organic wine producers, many of which are difficult to find elsewhere in New York.
